Something I have noticed and thought about. There is a large chunk of the Millenial generation that grew up with computers that were obtuse, hard to understand, and often broke. We learned to use a computer, how to work with it under the hood, how to ‘hack it like youtube did’, etc.
Now, we’re finding with more user-friendly interfaces and applications that most people don’t have to do these things just to get day to day activities done. Now we have a generation of users some of whom don’t even know how to use folders or browse a file directory because they grew up with ipads and iphones. What do you mean there is no app for that?
Well this is what got me thinking. Right now, doing a lot of work with LLMs and fighting these stupid math machines.
I’m worried what user friendly search will do. User friendly information. Somehow that sounds like it will make things worse.
